From Our President

Thank you for visiting our website. Voices of Gotham is an organization dedicated to creating and presenting excellence and innovation in a cappella singing for the enrichment, education, and enjoyment of our diverse audiences and chorus members, while respecting and preserving the rich tradition and heritage of barbershop quartet singing.

The Voices of Gotham held its first rehearsal in January 2008. We diligently began to develop material, utilizing the strengths and talents of every member to assemble a varied repertoire and show package.

Four months later, in May 2008, at a Mid-Atlantic District Divisional contest, we were welcomed as the newest addition to the Barbershop Harmony Society - the Hell's Kitchen, New York Chapter - the Voices of Gotham. This contest proved to be a memorable one, as we were awarded the top score. At once, our members were filled with pride that we had come this far, this fast - yet we were also struck with overwhelming gratitude and humility by the number of people who had taken an interest in us, who had cheered us on, and by those who went the extra mile to make our mere existence a possibility.

The Voices of Gotham is in the process of scheduling special activities and performances throughout the coming year. As we celebrate our birth and look forward to our future, we hope that you will honor us with your company and allow us to share our passion for excellence in harmony. We've had a great start and we trust that this year will be a memorable one.

You're always welcome in Hell's Kitchen!
